Nissan delivers LEAF and e-NV200 electric taxis to Madrid and Barcelona

Nissan has delivered its first electric taxis to Madrid and Barcelona—the Nissan LEAF to Madrid’s taxi fleet, and the e-NV200 taxi for Barcelona.

The Barcelona deliveries served as an important step in the execution of an agreement between Nissan, the City of Barcelona, and the Barcelona Metropolitan area which brings the Barcelona-built e-NV200 to the streets of the city where the electric van is produced.

Nissan has sold more than 142,000 units of the LEAF globally since its introduction in 2010. Sales of the LEAF in Jan-Sep 2014 have passed the total for all of 2013.
